What's wrong with with Apple making an iMac Pro with all the feature of
the new Mac Pro with maybe a 30" 4K display.

Admit it, you would LOVE to see something like that!

By definition pro box is easily serviceable and, hence, imac and pro
could not coexist in a single product. The market will be miniscule

I'd like to see where this "definition" exists.

I think that what everyone who uses a computer really wants...

...pro, amateur, or something in between...

...is for the computer never to NEED service in the first place.

How many people really long for the days when cars needed more service
than they do today?

I actually think depending on price this is going to be sold outside of
pro customers too…..alot of people just want a beast of a machine and
this is a BEAST.

Will be interesting to run benchmarks results later in the year.

fuck, I want to have to have no glare on my monitors
be that IPS or castrated ips. And speaking of castrated IPS,
I bought one I might buy another one, I might have $1k to spend. Who
knows?
I don't want that thing welded together with a monitor.
(I have a mod 2010 13" macbook pro with an abomination of a (low res)
TN panel,
need I say more?)

ok, we finally have a first customer who is ready for a hood welded
shut

and I was wondering where were all those glued battery, soldered cpu
designs coming from

I'm not sure your car parallel is all that pertinent to the discussion
at hand
and given your infatuation with laguna seca it's surprising to get
some utterances about
low maintenance. If you do even amature amounts of racing you are
expected
to dump prodigious sums of money into bottomless pit of the "sports"
car maintenance.

You do by the very least own a set of slicks or semislicks for the
occasion?

Great. No one is forcing you to.

1. The tires on a race car are a consumable, so they clearly fall into a
different category.

2. I would happily switch from using the Ford Kent engine in my Formula
F to the Honda Fit one which is now class legal, precisely because it
would require far less maintenance.

The fact that there are cars such as my race car that require
maintenance doesn't change the fact that what people really want is not
have to do any in the first place.
